Rachel and Simon’s Fabulous Suffolk Barn Wedding

The email came through from my gorgeous planner friend, the fabulous Holly at Join the Revelry.  Could we shoot a MarryOke wedding music video, and could we at the same time, shoot a traditional wedding film.  To which we answered, of course!

At Delirious, we pride ourselves on being able to adapt our style and work with only the best shooters to achieve our goal, so that while a MarryOke can be the silliest, craziest part of any wedding film capture, we still built a team that could deliver a classic film that documented Rachel and Simon’s big day with discretion, respect, affection and restrained style.

The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Marsh Farm, a beautiful grade II listed thatched barn that holds 120 guests set in a beautiful country estate a few miles west of Lowestoft, deep in the heart of windmill country.  Unlike some wedding venues they allow you to create your day exactly the way you want it.

Which, in the case of Simon and Rachel, was really something special.

Having stayed the night in the luxurious apartments of Marsh Farm, their day consisted of a simple and beautiful ceremony in the marquee, a relaxed mingling afterwards with a hotclub jazz quintet, before somewonderful groupTango lessons and an amazing choreographed dance performance from the bride and groom.

So far, so lovely. All very tasteful, restrained and romantic.

But alongside this, we also shot….

The MarryOke film!!

MarryOke, or as we prefer to call them, Wedding Music Videos, are – in case you didn’t know – when the bride and groom decide to have some laughs and lip-sync to a favourite pop song to create their own music video.  It’s not for everyone, and honestly, it has to be done with your tongue in your cheek.

But if you get it right, as Rachel and Simon did, then the results are hilarious and actually quite lovely.

All in all, a wonderful day, with a wonderful sense of style and love, but also, a great party with so much love and laughter.

Watch the final highlights film and the marryoke film below.

Congratulations Rachel and Simon.
