Now here is a magical story of two young people in love, a beautiful Hampshire church ceremony, a wonderful barn wedding, some pigs, some geese and - spoiler alert - a tractor!!
Danni and Aron found me courtesy of their close friends Amanda and Darren, whose Wedding at Three Choirs Vineyard, was one of the first and most delightful weddings I got to shoot after the awful protracted hiatus caused by lockdown.
Warborne Farm is a unique 100-acre family farm in the heart of the New Forest, boasting stylishly converted boutique barns crafted from reclaimed and natural materials. There is a special charm to their traditional agricultural buildings, incorporating original features that date back over 180 which of course appealed to Danni and Aron, who themselves are part of the farming community.
Rolling fields, orchard and vegetable gardens, and, if you get your drone high enough, a glimpse of the sea! As a professional wedding videographer, I cannot emphasise what a joy this beautiful wedding venue provides visually throughout even the longest wedding day.
Danni opted to get ready in the contemporary and stylish Long Barn, a space bursting with rustic charm. This sense of space has been retained by keeping the ground floor living area to its full height with soaring vaulted ceilings and cosy bedrooms up in the eaves. As was traditional in these barns, the downstairs has a soft brick floor and upstairs is laid with recycled oak floor boards from a 180 year old Amish barn, both with underfloor heating. In the kitchen we have reclaimed corrugated iron from the dung heap and the antique butchers block from our old farm shop butchery.
Short version: it is a brilliant place to get ready.
After a beautiful anglican ceremony in St Katherine’s church Exbury - a hop and a skip from the beautiful coastal village of Lepe - where big softy Aron couldn not contain his tears, and love, it was a gentle drive back down beautiful sun-kissed country lanes to Warborne Farm for drinks and canapes.
The wedding breakfast was held in the open in the Lambing Barn and Yard, across from stables. The big takeaway moment for me was when Danni gifted to her farmer husband Aron a Classic Tractor! Of course this featured in the wedding video and photos, as much as the beautiful countryside did. We rounded the day off, after a magical first dance and a raucous party, with live band with sparklers that really added a romantic finishing touch to this most perfect countryside summer wedding.
